A FEMININE FRESCO, IN TRIBUTE OF THE GREAT BOLDINI

A FEMININE FRESCO, IN TRIBUTE OF THE GREAT BOLDINI

MARIANI AFFRESCHI CELEBRATES WOMEN WITH ART WORKS INSPIRED BY BOLDINI, AN ARTIST WHOSE FORTE WAS CAPTURING THE GRACE AND ALLURE OF THE FEMALE FORM

On this day (8 March 2017) dedicated to the rights of women, and to their political, social and economic achievements, we feature an artist who was an excellent interpreter of femininity: Giovanni Boldini.
The works we want to show you are inspired by some master copies of the great artist, executed with the fresco technique and commissioned for original and elegant interior décor projects.

FRESCOES BY BOLDINI INSERTED IN BOISERIE PANELLING

In this project, our customers decorated their homes with wood boiserie in neutral and light colours, whose tones are enriched by a top frame in shaped wood with a beautiful gold leaf finish.

This very special decoration adds a touch of elegance to any room with a classic style and evokes the taste of French salons of the Belle Époque.
It is the perfect and most appropriate context for the Ladies of Boldini.
Mariani Affreschi was given the task of creating the art copies that would be positioned within the finely decorated wooden panels, transforming the boiserie into a unique frame.

ART NOUVEAU: A STUNNING INTERIOR

The carefully studied project for this interior was very complex, but the end result is the ultimate expression of luxury design that reflects the taste of the owners and finds the right balance in the aesthetics of the walls: from the boiserie, to the imitation golden frames and fine art reproductions.
The retrò style of the home evokes the style once characterised by the homes of the Bella Époque and is the perfect setting for the ladies of Boldini.

BOLDINI’S FRESCO-PAINTED WOMEN

It is only fitting that our contribution involves inserting the requested subjects that have been created using the technique that distinguishes us: fresco painting.
For days, inside our laboratory-studio, we have been creating the Parisian high society models on plaster finishes, which were then transferred to the final context using the “Calicot” method, one of our specialties.

Inspired by the original oil paintings, the Mariani fresco painters perfectly matched the brown and black tones of the so-called “sciabolate” (rapid brush strokes) of colour, which are sometimes violent, to give life and movement to the work and make it a success. In the same way, the skills and technical mastery of our Masters of Art calibrate the reactions of the plaster in order to obtain modulated nuances with refined effects, very similar to the colour tones and inflections of the oil technique.

THE INTERTWINING OF THE LEGENDARY BELLE ÉPOQUE AND THE TALENT OF GIOVANNI BOLDINI

Giovanni Boldini was one of the most prominent Italian artists of the late 19th century.
A master Portrait Painter, he was one of the most sought after painters in the “Parisian Salons.” He shaped a feminine ideal that the noble women of Parisian were happy to satisfy and that the painter reproduced in an almost serial manner. He made women his favourite subject and the absolute protagonist of his paintings, beautifully and elegantly paying tribute to the sophistication, elegance and complexity of Parisian High Society Women during the Belle Époque.

FALLING IN LOVE WITH A WORK OF ART

Sometimes we are so captivated by a work of art that we can’t help but fall in love with it; this is because our sense of beauty is aroused by looking at the work.

Marcel Duchamp believed that “taste is a habit acquired through repetition”.
Interpreting his concept, we can say that a work of art attracts us, provokes us and charms us because it brings to mind situations, signs or a harmony of colours and styles that we are used to and that, once we recognise them, fall in love with them.
Mariani Affreschi creates each project according to the desires and emotions of the customer because art and the search for beauty – especially in home décor – belong to the sphere of our most authentic inner being.

Below are some photos of homes decorated with frescoes painted by our skilled artists. These works were created by hand on commission or ordered from our catalogue, mounted on a frame like a traditional painting and then sent to the customer’s home for quick and easy wall placement.

In this regard, we would also like to remind you that our official Online Shop was opened a few months ago, where you can select and purchase a fresco painting or classic painting created by Mariani Affreschi artists, receiving it directly at your home (see all the products here).
