THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WINDOW IN THE HISTORY OF ART IS CALLED TROMPE-L’OEIL

Mariani Affreschi brings this classic interior decoration back to your home.

It is hard and time-consuming to find the ideal house, which is why we at Mariani Affreschi want to suggest a décor item that will certainly change the look of your home.

We are talking about the Trompe-L’oeil, which literally means “to deceive the eye” in French. This art technique uses perspective and pictorial mastery to induce our eyes to “look through” the wall where this painting is applied and to enter a new scenario, far from our everyday life.

The custom-made trompe-L’oeil integrates with the rooms of your home, following the existing perspectives

A sort of theatrical backdrop, a scenography painted on a two-dimensional surface based on a very strong technical and pictorial preparation, capable of creating a perspective illusion that interacts with the surrounding space.

This painting technique has a tradition spanning centuries, from Pompeii passing through the Camera degli Sposi del Mantegna (Castello S.Giorgio, Mantova) up to the present day, because there is always a need for change and to move towards a distant beyond.

Traditionally painted as a fresco directly on the wall, the Trompe-L’oeil painted by our Masters of Art can be placed in your home immediately after its execution, thanks to the Calicot process (the crowning achievement of Mariani Affreschi). This allows removing the fresco from the wall inside our workshop where it was painted, and transferring it to your home, thus avoiding the need to set up an artistic work site.

However, if you don’t have a large surface area to use for the desired Tromp-L’oeil, Mariani Affreschi can meet your space requirements by applying the fresco using the ‘strappo’ technique directly on a wooden frame, custom making it for you personally.

In the same way, if you prefer tempera and acrylic, our Artists will be able to help you by creating landscapes on canvas in realistic or monochromatic colours, to adapt to all types of décor and furnishings, from the most classic to the most modern.
